The South Wind blew the six original members of the band Kansas in for a visit and we thought we should brew a beer to commemorate the event. We use rye malt for its spicy contribution, and six different hops, one for each wayward son. Amarillo, Simcoe, Centennial, Chinook, Citra, and Meridian for dry hopping. We use California ale yeast for its clean flavor and hop forward profile. Bright tangerine nose with a soft, dry malt character that finishes like dust in the wind

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a mostly translucent orange amber with a smaller off white head that left sticky lacing. Aroma of mixed citrusy hop notes, some caramel notes and pine. Flavor almost matches the aroma. Nice and dry. Well done rye IPA

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Blind Tiger on 1/19/2013. Pours a clear amber color with a frothy white head. Aroma is rye bread, honey, and floral. Taste is definitely more rye than IPA. Flavor is sweet and malty with rye bread and a little bit of a hoppy citrus character at the end. Very good RIPA.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
sample at brewpub off gold color Frothy off-white head. Nice citrus forward hop aroma. Toasty and clean, this is almost more of a great APA than an IPA. Either way, really well done, well above par for blind tiger. Classic taste profile, not over the top, but well hopped and quite enjoyable
