COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
San Diego style IPA. On our recent trip to San Diego for the World Beer Cup we had several opportunities to soak up the local beer scene. San Diego area brewers and their aggressively hopped beers have made the west coast style of brewing famous. This IPA employs an indecent amount of Amarillo & Simcoe hops. We named the brew after the Top Gun fighter pilot school in Miramar, CA. The color is reminiscent of a San Diego Sunset and the body s lighter and dryer than our Tiger Bite IPA. By the time you finish this beer you’ll know you’ve been in a hop fight.

I remember the first time I tasted this beer years ago and thought it was too hoppy and barely drinkable. As I've tried more beers and have grown to love big hoppy beers and now count this as one of my favorites. Really a great IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap @ Blind Tiger. Pours a fairly clear dark golden orange appearance with a white head. Grapefruity, slightly resiny, spicy hoppy aroma. Toasted malty, spicy, ganja hoppy, moderately bitter flavor. Best I had here. Nice stuff.

Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a medium bubbly white head. Aroma of great citrusy and floral American hops. Just a touch of biscuit malt. Flavor of the same. When fresh so nice and hoppy. Dry, crisp and hoppy like a great west coast IPA should be!

64 ounce growler from the brewpub. Pours a bright golden orange hue with a fizzy quarter inch head. Good lacing. Aroma is of freshly mown grass with light pine, maybe some grapefruit, in the background. Initially I get a very light mouthfeel with a surprising amount of malt. Good balance and nice hop bitterness in the finish. It takes a while for the hops to hit you, but once they do you get loads of grass and pine. Is it possible for an IPA to be refreshing? Maybe the best offering from Blind Tiger.
