On tap somwhere! Slightly hazy amber beer. Toffee and marmalde hops on the nose. Smooth palate. Very nicely balanced toffee malt and light ’green’ hops. A little sweet orange and peach in the finish.

Cask (handpump) @ Bow Bar, 80 West Bow, Edinburgh, Scotland EH1 2HH.

Clear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy to creay, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, light hoppy, wood - apple notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100205]

Rating is the better of two - that’s how the brewer intended it I’m sure.

6 honey,bready and a touch farty aroma
4 deep amber, large bready head
7 very bready taste, touch of wool. Hint of honey occasionally.
3 pleasant carbonation, but a tad thin after that.
13 Certaintly sessionable, a very easy and tasty quaff.
Rerate: Cask (Black Door, Helsinki)
7 sweet malts, loads of fresh noble hops
4 ditto
7 hint of lacticity, but good sweet malts, some nougat
4 full bodied, lovely hops with an acidic bite.

A Mes rate: Cask at the Market (No) Porter.
Bright copper with a very impressive off white head and lace. Big fruity malt with a good earthy feel and some excellent balancing grassy hops. Superb creamy stuff with a hint of coffee. Mellow and drinkable but bags of character. Really good stuff.
