Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured hazy dark orange brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy sweet fruit, nutmeg & toasted malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy spice sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations were exceeded.

750ml bottle. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a small yellowish beige head. The aroma has caramel, honey, barrel with some boozy brandy and vanilla with darker fruits favoring figs and stirring some raisin. Flavors are much of the same; caramel, figs, hints of spice, wood, brandy and vanilla all having a warming effect. Medium body. Good flavor but a little boozy.

750ml bottle, shared by alexsdad06. Hazy brown - red color. Some particles in the body. Thin off-white head on the surface. Little lace. Really interesting, complex nose. Fig pudding describes it well. Big fig, caramel malt, rich cake, some chocolate in the nose, baked apple pie and light spice. Bigger body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Viscous in the finish. Sweeter taste, light bitter, little spice. Light warmth in the finish. Not too much alcohol bite. Interesting, unique, complex tasty stuff.

750 ml to snifter (thanks alexsdad06). Looks good; a semi-transparent caramel with thin off-white lacing. Smells solid; sweet and boozy with notes of fig, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Solid beer.

Growler. Dark, figgy, murky. Mild tartness underneath. Flavor profile isn't cohesive (or particularly delicious). Meh.

2011 vintage Dark reddidsh copper color with a light tan head. Nose is cinnamon, dark fruits, nuts, bread, caramel and slight amounts of brandy. Slightly muted at first but grew as it warmed. Taste is a little more bread l with slight spices, cinnamon, dark fruits and splashes of brandy. Well balanced but quite soft. Medium feel, light carbonation. Not as coating as thought it could or should be for the style. Still nice though

Bottle at ChrisO Holiday Tasting, London - thanks to Colin for procuring this one. Pours cloudy brown with a fine, tan cream head. Semi-dark malt nose with dark fruits. Big sweet flavor with light tangy fruits, mellow spices, fruitcake. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with tangy dark fruits, berries, dark bread, more fruitcake, a bit of alcohol, moderate earthy bitterness. Decent.
