375ml capped bottle, thanks Todd. Tart lemon, pale malt, punky white oak, Brett character, light chalk and faint acetone as it warms. Tight prickly carbonation and some body to it...creamy feeling. Tart lemon, white grape skin, white oak, Brett funk and dryness, pale malt. Crisp, tart, clean finish. Nice beer.

375 ml bottle acquired via trade. Pretty excited for this one. Pours a nice darker orange pour, firm haziness, deeper hued middle and sunny orange edges glow with some amber orange highlights. A frothy whitish head atop dies to a film, laces small. Aromas are fairly complex offering an array of oak, gentle winey elements, firm lactic and yogurty sourness. A melange of citrusy and tropical fruit, some tart apple, gentle pear, honeycrisp. Bready malts and some cobwebs, funky dusty elements and straw come in as it warms and settles. Lots of pineapple as I move forward, a bit sweet and fruity overall, firm lactic and oaky presence sustain. Nice. Initial is lighter end of the fold, a tart element up front and lots of fruit. Pineapple, melon, and some citrusy lemon latch on, lime and a bit of apricot. Sour grapes, some bready malts, and lactic elements start to show up. Lime and tart, more yogurt and lactic presence into the middle. Firmer oak qualities back there as well, bits of grapeskin and tannic wet wood. Good sour bite, richer oak, lactic sourness. The funky brett element takes some poking through the initial onslaught. Dusty, earthy and straw bretty elements dry out a bit into the back. That wine element provides some more tannic qualities and a synergy with it. Very well balanced as far as the sour element, light and effervescent yet full of flavor and complexity. Really damn good. I wasn’t able to get a hold of Framboise White yet and haven’t opened Belmont 15 yet either. But I can safely say this beer is pretty remarkable and my favorite of Block 15’s Sour offerings thus far. Spritzy and fruity, a complex wild and oaky onslaught with good fruity rich flavors, pineapple, grapes, and melon, firmer citrus. Just really nice, not offensive and overdone like American sours can become. Well done.

Bottle purchased last year. Been waiting for it to mature a little before cracking into it.
A: Beautiful lemon yellow with hints of orange at the edges. Foamy head turns lazy after an aggressive pour. Slick off the glass.
N: Apricots, gouda cheese, and some faint vinous grape. Has a soapy quality (in a pleasant way), lemons and oranges. Granny Smith apples. Some light pepper spiciness and some earth. Pleasantly funky and fruity. Might be a little light, but it’s certainly enjoyable.
T: Wow. Big fruit flavor. Lots of peach and apricots. Some leather and grains from a horse stable. Grapes round the outside. Oak adds a zesty woodiness. Fresh squeezed lemons. This really hits the sweet spot on the sourness scale. Still puckering, but oh so balanced. Slight acetic acid might be the only negative.
M: I believe it’s comparable to the Belgians. Prickly and lighter on the feel.
O: By far the best sour out of Oregon, and it’s not close. I look forward to seeing how these evolve in the bottle.

What a surprisingly great sour on tap at Prohibition pig. Aroma is light funk, tropical fruit musty funkyness. Taste is very tart and lightly sweet with more tropical fruit flavors and light melon, vanilla, and grapefruit. OUTSTANDING and reminds me of a more tart less rustic Juicy from Hill Farmstead.

375ml bottle. Thanks to Todd for the bottle... Pours a vivid golden orange brown and topped with a thin solidly firm soapy white head a that reduces to a thin ring... Aroma of oaky sour tannins, sour with a light to mild acidity. Slight must and socky earthy funk. Light peach apricot... Flavors are more of the same with a perky oaked sour with a touch of added dried apricot. Acidity comes into play initially but slowly becomes less apparent. Little earth in the backend. Body is light to medium with semi-lively carbonation.
