Bottle @ ZeeBra. Aroma has some red fruits, roast, liquorice and a light yeasty note. Flavour is slightly tart of red fruits with some bourbon and bread. Slight infection? Still a great beer though.

Big thanks to boralyl for sending this one out my way. Nose brings forward a good dose of strong bourbon. Very smooth. Underneath is a bit of oak and moderate dark fruit character along with a bit of cherry. Mild caramel and a bit of underlying sweetness. Medium body and very smooth.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
The beer appears a murky shade of burnt copper with virtually no head. The aroma offers oak, vanilla, bourbon, sweet malt. The flavor is very malty, with tannic / vanilla notes. Perhaps a hint of citrus from excessive barrel character. Light in feel with low carbonation. Overall, this was ok.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The corked and caged bottle came from Market of Choice in Ashland, Oregon. The cork was tough to remove, and I finally had to resort to a wine bottle cork remover. Poured a muddy dark copper color with a small tan head and polka dot lacing. Nose of bourbon, with some sweet malts. Medium to full in body with an alcoholic mouthfeel. The flavor is almost overwhelmingly bourbon with some vanilla and a lot of alcohol. Long bourbon finish. Sometimes beers with this much bourbon and alcohol are problematic, but this one works quite well, and is very tasty and drinkable from start to finish. Quite a beer.

Sweet and robust ale. Assuming its aged in PVW 23 it has the standard vanilla bourbon notes, not much more.

On draught at BeerMongers. Full deep flavor of caramel apple with an alcohol warming on the finish. Wonderful.
