3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dunt (214) - Illinois, USA - JAN 20, 2013Bottle provided by Matt. Pours a rather flat, hazy brownish orange. Nose is ripe strawberry and lightly vegetal. Otherwise, there isn’t much going on. Flavor is light strawberry and some yogurt. It’s lightly tart with no underlying acidity. Mouthfeel is its downfall. It’s pretty watery, no much carbonation very light acidity, and a short finish. Captures the strawberry better than other beers I’ve tried, but nothing to really write home. I liked golden canary more in terms of block 15 sours.

My g*ddamn keyboard is now sticky as all hell. I didn’t pay for this! Carbonation on this thing could fill the Metro Dome. Holy Piss, tone it down guys... this is a beer, not a science project. Tastes very fruity, and strawberry like, but I think I am going to have a heart attack each time I gulp this one. HOLY SH!T am I sticky. Everything around me is covered in this piss. This beer needs to come with a f*cking warning sticker... Any beer that goes apesh*t when opened deserves to have the piss beat out of it. GULP! F*CK, someone call 911, this sh*t will kill you!!!! FFS, now I need a g*ddamn shower I know two things now, don’t eat indian food before going on a long car trip, and DO NOT open Block 15 sour/wild ales unless its over a sink.

Nice super strawberry forward wild ale. Berries dominate with light balsamic and nice sweetness. A bit one dimensional but super enjoyable.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 GT2 (5659) - Riverslime, California, USA - MAY 4, 2013
375mL thanks to brainlair and ryan. Flatter, clear bright orange. Ring of white bubbles. Bright nectar fruit, mild caramel, mild acetic pickle, very mild fresh strawberry, . Delicate. Taste has some sweet strawberry ice cream, mild white wine acidity, caramel, creme brulee dessert character. Bright, acidic, very mild strawberry which is nice compared to sticky artificial strawberry.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 TheAlum (4289) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - APR 15, 2013
375 ml bottle acquired via trade. Awesome. Pours a well hazed orange golden hue, firmer haze, kiss of reddish berry tinge and frothy small whitish layer atop dies to a ring, laces small. Aromas are lemony, vibrant sourness and lactic twang. Lemonade, strawberries, a touch seedy with some oak, gentle sweetness. Nice zippy sour nose is quite inviting. Really nice. Initial is a touch on the lighter side, some mellow body. Firmer sourness up front of lemon, strawberry and mellow tart berry hits the palate. Yogurt, lemony, and firmer lactic sourness hits well. Touches of oak, mellow fruity sweetness in my body. Pretty zippy, lactic and tart yet well balanced. It’s got a blast of tartness, some funk and dryness hits the palate into the middle and backend, tart and a bit more mellow finish, touches of berry, oak, cobwebs and dryness. Really well integrated, firm sourness that never gets acetic or overwhelming. Pretty nice blonde with some good sourness, mellow strawberry, dry and growing funk into the finish. Pretty nice beer. Fresh, light, tart, and funky. Nice beer with some nice qualities, no intense or awe inducing elements but a nice firmer strawberry and some yogurty, lactic feel. Nice.

Bottle shared at Ma Che, Roma, 09/02/13, thanks originally to one of the PDX gang for gifting me this.
Hazed mid amber with a thin white head that clears to a swirl.
Nose is sour/tarte strawberries, light burnt fruit notes.
Taste comprises soured strawberry milkshake, tarte strawberries, light sugar, yeast.
Medium bodied with fine carbonation leading to a dry finish.
You would not think this was much above 5% ABV let alone 8 ! Eminently drinkable sour - want more !!!
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Mortlach (715) - Rome, ITALY - FEB 14, 2013
09/02/2013 375ml bottle (thanks Theydon_Bois!). Corpo medio, carbonazione soft. Elegantissima e facile da bere.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 BMan1113VR (7380) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 22, 2012
Bottle shared by someone at work (PMR maybe?). Pours with a hazed yellow hued body with a small white head. Aromas are very fresh and vibrant strawberry, some medium funk, jammy, wet hay, light barrel. Flavors show some zingy acidity, good and jammy fruit, mild funk and some hay. What really hurts this beer is the lack of carbonation which kills any brightness that the fruit and acidity might have. Lacking "zip" with the lower carbonation and as a result, lower body. Good, but missing a little bit.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 mcberko (4055) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 19, 2012
375mL bottle, pours a completely still cloudy orange with a tiny ring of white bubbles - makes me wonder why the hell this was capped and corked. Nose of oak barrels, fairly prominent soured strawberries, and a bit of fruity sweetness. Flavour is dominated by the oak barrels, with quite a puckering berry sourness, a hint of berry sweetness though dominated by the sourness, and a bit of funk, finishing on tart, complex oak notes. Whatever the deal is with the carbonation, this is pretty solid, though could perhaps use a livelier carbonation to bring out the complexities more. Great stuff.
