Bottled. A pitch black beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, roasted malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, alcohol, and caramel, leading to a dry roasted finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Nose of dark malts bourbon cocoa notes, vanilla. Great subtle use of bourbon but to get it up in there. I like this nose. Chocolate. Natural notes. Pours black, tan ring of foam. Flavors of cocoa, chocolate, roasted malts, alcohol notes, nice integrated bourbon, vanilla, barrel, cocoa nibs, brown sugar. Really balanced and integrated. Solid stuff. Nice body not overly sweet or big. Really nice imperial stout. Probably overlooked as well. Boom. Good shit cock fags.

Bottle from DA. Shared this with a few buddies the other day and wow was this thing a treat. Silky and smooth with characteristics of charred oak and Belgian dark chocolate with just a hint of bourbon. I liked how all the flavors came together in a symphony of goodness on the palate. Another great one from Block 15.

On tap at Beermongers A: Black of blackness. Or, you know, normal for an RIS. Pretty good mocha head defers to a ring. N: Heavy fudge and chocolate. Coffee and cream. Bourbon rises up as this warms. T: Fudge, bourbon, vanilla, coconut, and tons of roasted coffee beans. There’s plenty of pepper from the oak, and I really get a lot of the Buffalo Trace lost barrels this was aged in at the back end of the palate. There is definitely some alcohol sharpness here. M: Good, oily mouthfeel. Coats the palate rather nicely. O: I’ve told a couple people this was one my favorite beers ever, and it holds true: on nitro. On tap, I was a bit letdown this wasn’t as gigantic and huge as the aforementioned, but I think this is partially because the non-nitro version has a ways to go before some of the alcohol disappears leaving this complex stout to shine.
