Brewed with Belgian Pale and Pilsner malts, clear candi sugar and fermented with Belgian Trappist yeast. Wandelpad pours a slightly hazy golden blonde with a fluffy white head. Aromas of plum, fruit, spice and malt. Firmly hopped with fine noble hop varieties. Bottle conditioned.

375mL capped bottle shared by Pruf. Slightly cloudy dull golden color. Small but tight head. Non estery, slightly lemon rind yeastiness, plenty of dough from the yeast. Gummy doughy too. Light effervescence. Flavor is thick, not sweet but a bright dough, light lemon rind fruit finish. Slightly stingy mouthfeel helps break through all the dough. Light hop bite at the very end. This is what an American Belgian should taste like.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2015 375 ml bottle brought to me by a friend. ABV listed as 8.0% on this particular bottle. Pours cloudy golden-orange with small, fine-bubbled white head. Aroma brings orange zest and pepper on first approach. In the mouth aromas of bubble gum (but well-integrated instead of being over-the-top), mineral, and fruit come in as well. Taste is moderately sweet with a short, pleasant, moderately bitter finish. Palate: soft and gentle; medium- body, average carbonation. Overall: I like this better than most locally produced Belgian ales. Would drink again.

Poured from bottle to glass. Hazy straw hue with fizzy white head that dissipated. Aroma is straw, lemon, earthy, slight funk. Mouthfeel is nice with a medium light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry with a slight bitterness in the following and an astringent earthiness in the finish. Overall this brew was ok.

murky gold, large bubbled white head laces all over. Dusty brett nose, faint grass and earth, light cotton candy, not as much as young Orval. Light grass and metal at front, more dough and brett esters mid, lightly peppery with more hay and saddle. A bit messy on the edges but otherwise decent interpretation. Matilda pre 06 still the best.

I have a 8.5abv version. Peppery aroma earthy lemon little bits of heat and bitterness. Ryelike flavor. Belgian yeast is a bit fruity but rides backseat to hops.

From bottle. Clear light golden color with plenty of bubbles. Aroma is light yeast, floral hops, light pitted fruit notes. Taste is plum, honey, floral hops, and lightly tart yeast. Finishes with a hint of white wine grapes and light bitterness.

Crisp clear golden coloured body with a thin, one centimetre very large-bubbled white head. Aroma of pale malt, paint thinner, acetone, alcohol, apples, pears and a super pungent smell of champagne - dry and to the point. Light-bodied; Interesting flavour of deep malt, alcohol, oak, champagne, cognac, cherries and a light sweetness from sugar. Aftertaste has a very nice complexity with dry oak and malt coming through most, then a faint lemon and complex belgian yeast quality, all finishing with some mild sweetness. Overall, an interesting beer with some good flavours, but not anything truly amazing. I sampled this 37,5 cL stubby split (no cork) bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 25-April-2013 for US$4.46 sampled at home in Washington on 04-January-2014.

Bottle. Pours an orange-gold color with a firm white head. Straw, grass, and some lemon in the scent. Dough after it sits a little. The flavor shows: straw, herbal hops, husk, and bread. Not much yeast at all, clearly separating itself from the Saison category. Light-bodied, thirst quenching, and solid stuff. Lightly sweet upfront and delicate with a dry and bitter hop finish. Not a ton of thrills but nicely put together.

On draught at block 15 11/9/13 - pours clear golden with small lingering head. Nose of mild hop, yeast, vans grass. Taste of sweet grass, yeast, and bitter cloves. Very nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

375 ml bottle thanks to Garry. Orange like pour. Light perfume and fruit. Light body. Not a heavy yeasty presence. Maybe some plum or grape. Different.
