3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap sample. Poured clear black color with an average frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, chocolate, earthy hop with a small alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a dry slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy dark bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a very good complex beer.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at source:
Pours black with a small, dark head.
Scent is slightly licorice....an air of petroleum...
Taste is oily, malty.
Nicely balanced chocolate and bitter grapefruit notes.
Much less impact than the 106 IBU would suggest.
Good stuff.....a nice example of a BIPA.

Draft. Grapefruit peel/pine hops and caramel malt aroma. Dark black with minimal head. Sweet chocolate and moderate bitter grapefruit peel and pine hops flavor. Very nice.
