COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A smooth, well-balanced ale brewed with pure water, malts, hops, and yeast and then cold conditioned in the tradition of a classic German Altbier. The drinkable nature of this beer and the roasted chocolate and coffee notes present in this beer make it a wonderfully warming beer. A subtle malt sweetness, distinctive German hops aroma and taste, and subtle roasted finish make this one of our favorite styles of beer.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2009 Hazy dark brown pour, medium tan head with a spotty lace. Chocolate aroma. Flavors are like malt syrup on the front, a little off-sour here, then finishing with chocolate notes. Somewhat thin, but effervescent in the mouth.

very sweet maly nose with clight grain notes. murky brown appearance with little head that fades quickly. smooth caramel sweetness with a biting mouthfeel. If I think of eating colors, this beer truly tastes brown. very earthy. An interesting pint, but I see why this style isn’t oftern brewed for mass consumption

Poursd a deep mahogany colour. The bartender described it as the least popular because its not as "fancy" as the other BluCreek brew. Whatever that means? But I found it to be pretty decent. A thicker body, heavy full mouthfeel with soft chocolate, smoke and nutty flavors.

Thin head of very fine bubbles. Dusty dry leaves aroma with some light roasted grains, chocolate malts and nuts. Color is a dark brown. More chocolate, crusty bread, nuts and a bit of smoke. Grainy palate. Finishes roasty with a lingering smokeyness. A decent brew.
