Gravity, Leicester 2011. Still ink pour with no head. Well done toast, cafetiere and liquorice aroma. Solid ashy stout with burnt wood notes, Tia Maria, softening milk chocolate and a soapy hop undercurrent. Lacks a bit of finish and...well, espresso, really- but a decent stout all the same.

Cask (gravity) @ The 17th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2011, Reading, Berkshire England.

Clear dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate malt, dark malt. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, chocolate, coffee. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20110429]

Cask gravity at Reading BF 2011. Black beer with tan collar of bubbles. Some coffee but not huge. With some yeast on aroma too. Now that is a disappointment. I had a good run of beers and this is a bit of a let down. Some kind of chemical I cant put my finger on. Oily and not entirely pleasant without it being off. Not espresso.
