Cask, half pint at Rook and Gaskill. Good looking bright golden-brown coloured body. Spotty lacing from a film-type layer. Quite powerful aroma of caramel malts, slightly roasted. Brittle caramel malty taste balanced by herbal hops. Malt bittersweet finish. Likable (York, 26.01.2013).

Cask@Blue Stoops,Chesterfield. Mmmm.. Not quite sure what to make of this. Very dark coloured, almost like a porter or a mild in apperance, which for a bog standard bitter may put some people off. It tastes quite hoppy and sharp with a slightly roasted after taste. In attempting to cover several different styles in one beer is brave, but ultimately it doesn,t succeed at anything as well as it should. it,s one of those beers that people will try, find okay but then move on to something else. It,s not bad,but........

Cask. Dark brown Ale with a light cream thick head. Hoppy nose with a malt hint. Surprisingly light in the mouth with a large bitter kick. Well balanced and sessionable. Finish is rich and dry. A quality session bitter without being overpowering in any aspect.

On gravity at the Volunteer, Bristol 30/6/2012. Copper coloured with an off-white head. Sweet, caramel and citrus fruit aroma. Flavour had more sweet malts, with a hint of marmalade and short, bitter finish. Fine.

Pint at the Rutland Arms in Sheffield. Dark brown with a decent creamy white head. Light, bitter hop aroma. Smooth and pleasant bitter. Enjoyable.

Cask conditioned handpump Harp London. A golden beer with a white head. Honeyed sweetness and light citrussy hops. Reasonably subdued sweetness in the nose. Malts are biscuity. Too much honey in the mouth for me.

On cask at The Congress, Longton. Pours amber with a white head. Quite a hoppy best bitter with a good malt balance. A nice session ale.
