Cask @ The Rutland Arms, Sheffield. The pour’s deep brown with a tiny khaki head. The aroma’s roasted nuts, a bit of raisin, chocolate syrup. Nice earthy roastiness to cut the sweetness. The taste is similar. A bit of bitter dark chocolate. Light roasted malts. Hints of sweet dark fruits. Smooth, easy-drinking stuff. Overall, not bad.

Cask, Derby Winter Fest 13. Very dark brown with a thin foam. Aromas are nutty with chocolate and milk chocolate. Weetabix with winter berries and floral notes. Earthy with hints of musty cheese. Flavours are chocolate and Weetabix with light roast coffee. Nutty with a lightly fruity finish. Decent.

On cask @ Coach and Horses Dronfield - a deep black body with a tan head, coffee and mocha on the nose, a bit smoky and a bit roasted. The taste is a smooth coffee, a bit of nut a bit cigar. A solid mouthfeel, lasting bitter finish. Pretty good.

Palate - soft carb, light body. Finish - dry bitter roast linger, too dry
Overall - OK stout but too dry

Thick creamy tan head. Clear dark pour. Nice hint of bitterness with hints of coffee and chocolate. Nice stout.

Clear dark black colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, burnt caramel, roasted, burnt, dark roasted. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, dark roasted, light soy sauce. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20111020]

Cask at the Shakespeare, Sheffield. Dark, crude oil looking pour with a broken tan head. Big typical peaty stout aroma with a spicy peaty liquorice flavour and a hint of bitterness on the palate. A lovely stout indeed.

Cask conditioned handpump Harp London 23/07/12. A near black coloured beer with a tan coloured bubbly head. An oatmeally stout with nice roasty flavours too and a nice hint of modern hoppiness also. A well balanced and tasty modern stout.
