Cask at Smithfield Hotel, Manchester. A hazy chestnut colored beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel as well as light notes of butterscotch as well as light notes of citrus, leading to a dry bitter and malty finish.

Attractive deep, rich, ruby/brown colour. Not much came through on the aroma. Reasonable balance of malt and hop in the flavour. Dry, slightly sharp, finish. Although nothing really stood out in this beer, I rather enjoyed it. Cask (gravity dispense) at Peterborough Beer Festival.

Peterborough Fest. Ruby coloured darkly bitter premium bitter. Nicely done but not to my taste. Too old school, too much English bitter hops.
