I thought Big Log Wheat was a dumb name for a beer but I swear that prejudice is not reflected in my score. Big Log (ugh) has a pretty standard appearance with a yellowish straw color. The head is nice and white but not very robust; it doesn’t stick around for very long either. There’s an okay aroma with clove and... Okay, so actually it’s just clove. Some banana taste and a touch of yeast, but it doesn’t hit the sweet/sour balance that it’s aiming for. In the end, this beer is underwhelming but not awful. Alright, is Big Log supposed to be a penis joke? I’m just going to keep thinking of it that way.

On tap at the brewery. Pale yellow and opaque appearance with a white head. Aroma of citrus fruits, herbs (clove, coriander), spices and toasted grains. Similar flavor, adding bready malts and chalky yeast. Average body, crisp with carbonation. Not bad.

A- Wheat, spices, citrus.
A- Golden color, cloudy liquid, white head.
T- Wheat, hay, skunky.
P- Light body, average texture, medium carbonation, odd finish.
O- A very skunky off tasting wheat ale. Could be part of a bad batch as wheat ales are my favorite style, but this was far from a favorite. Nothing good about this one.

12oz can poured into a Big Eddy glass. Color is murky golden with a small head. Aroma is pretty strong strong with husky, bulky malts, poor attenuation with tart wheat. Flavor again bulky on the malts, just not clean and messy. Decent beer otherwise, I could drink it if need be. Extra points for the nice can labels.
