On tap @ AleFest. Hazy yellow in appearance with a small white head. Light malt aroma, almost nothing there. There are lots of lemon and orange flavors, spice, yeast and a light sweetness. Finishes dry. Drinkable, but not that great.

This was served a Witbier-hazed pale yellow, mildly sparkling, holding a creamy, white head. Light sulfurs disperse above light funk and predominant yeasts in the nose. Crisp in the mouth yet finishing soft... which tones down the tart yeasts to seem delicate rather than sharp and cheesish as first perceived. Well done, and kudos to the brewers for thinking to age some.

Probably not worth mentioning (but I will): I enjoyed several moments of levity shouting "Saison de Quatre Ville!", in a French accent, at my cats.

UPDATED: APR 16, 2007 I learned at AleFest Chicago that this is Blue Cat’s Illinois Craft Brewers Guild ReplicAle from 2006. Good stuff. The aging did it well. It’s a somewhat hazy pale straw ale with a good frothy head that laces nicely. The aroma has lemon, grasses, sweet malt, lively spices, and a bit of barnyard funkiness to it. It’s lightly tart, has some clove and white peppers, a splash of sweet pale malts, and a refreshing grassy bitterness. The finish is dry and mildly bitter. A job well done.

on tap, pours hazy lemon with white head. nose has lemon and mild funk to it. flavor is very odd, sweet, dms, mild peppery, and loves. alcohol was well hidden, but this is not a good saison.

Draught at the brewub. Slightly hazy yellow-orange color with thin white head that left some lace. Attractive aroma of white wine, clove, and fall leaves. Tastes of white wine, clove, and a touch of alcohol. Tangy, dry, and vinous. Very good Saison.
