COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our stout lives up to the highest expectations of dark beer lovers. Roasted malts contribute notes of coffee and chocolate, while rolled oats lend a full and rounded character to the palate. 5.6% ABV 2007 Great American Beer Festival - Oatmeal Stout - Gold Medal

This was one of four beers tasted for lunch on our trip to Santa Fe. This stout was deep balck in color with browish head and lacing. The initial taste was of chocolate and coffee. The robust flavor is its strength. The smooth finish had you wanting more. On another day I will only drink their stout.

Draft @ brewpub. Black with tan head. Rich cocoa aroma. Palate is lightly carbonated. Toasty chocolate malt with a licorice finish. Thin but tastes alright.

Oakes (10184) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 24, 2011
Slightly hazy dark brown. Smells chocolatey, oaty and a little bit nutty Tastes more like bland nuttiness and light chocolate. Not much residual sugar and not much roast. A bit thin - overattenuated. Leaves the beer lacking in roundness and balance.

jcr (1682) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - AUG 8, 2011
Draft. Deep brown body with a tan head rapidly diminishing. Roasty aroma with notes of chocolate, lactose and chocolate. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, moderate, but adequate, carbonation. Starts overly sweet, but bitterness from roast and hops cut it. Somewhat dry in the finish. Best of the lineup at Blue Corn.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasty malt, lactose, and smooth chocolate. Flavor of sweet malt, some roast, and a little chocolate. Very sweet, perhaps too sweet and the palate is weak. Not a fan. 6/4/5/2/11 [2.8/5]

notalush (3742) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 3, 2010
A smooth, creamy stout, with quite a bit of slickness and body from the oats - vanilla sweetness balanced well by bittersweet chocolate, moderate roast, and mild black malt bitterness - chocolate finish, with a tiny bit of hops to round it out - decent.
