MrEcted1 (138), Wheat Ridge, Colorado, USA Mar 25, 2008 This is an IPA that starts out decent enough, but on the finish there’s a bitterness that is a bit offensive, not your typical IPA bitterness. Very average on the nose with a little bit of pine coming through. Overall a very ho-hum IPA with a tangy bitterness that doesn’t belong.
Drnk_McDermott (1537), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Jul 30, 2008 Found my tasting notes from our Sept. 2000 Rt. 66 trip. This is before I discovered beer rating sites, but I still wanted to note some impressions. Of course, all I had to say about this was "Arid; good and hoppy." For a guy who had never critiqued a beer until that month, a decent appraisal. My rating will just be the 2.8 average score currently standing, and this is a placeholder for what I hope will be a return trip to the Land of Enchantment (and green chile pork stew!). luckygirl (1212), Longmont, Colorado, USA Jun 2, 2008 Draught at the southern location. Beer is clear, lightly/moderately hued oxidized bronze-gold colored. Head is larger-than-average, creamy, off-white; mostly lasting.
The aroma is malty with a light note of cookie; Hoppy with a moderate notes of resin/pine, light notes of flowers, apricot, trace of lemon zest.
The flavor is moderately/heavily bitter, moderately sweet, lightly acidic with a heavily bitter, moderately sweet finish. Lingering grip.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is average.
Solidly average. Nice hop spectrum.
