COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This red wine barrel-aged Imperial Stout was brewed to celebrate our 10th Anniversary. As we looked back on all the tears we cried, sweat we gave and laughter we’ve shared, we felt this beer was the best way to sum it all up. Aged in French oak barrels, this beer has been creating memories of its own. Layers of chocolate malt, espresso, and caramelized apple drift up from the glass with a slight sourness on your tongue that begs you to have another sip.

Bomber. Poured medium-deep brown with a tight-bubbled yellowy-beige head that settled down to a fine film rather quickly. The aroma picked up a whole bunch of red wine first and foremost.. sweeter cocoa, vanilla, and more grapes beneath.. aged oak and vanilla accented.. this came together very well. The flavor opened with tangy vinous notes and cherries, with sweet cocoa, molasses, and red wine behind.. cocoa gave a hit of bitterness on the edges, fruit skins and oak gave a bit of sourness, and alcohol provided some black pepper.. the warm, very winey finish worked great with the malt bill.. very tasty stuff! Medium-bodied and slick through the palate.. quite a bit of sourness from the barrel, but it really did work.. very dry with high carbonation.. not the greatest flow, but it was an excellent brew.

Bottle… Tower of Power Sour Hour 2011… Murky, ruddy brown ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. The bouquet is very vinous and woody, offering additional notes of cocoa, caramel and red wine vinegar. Full-bodied with lively carbonation. This baby is chocolaty, nutty and delightfully tart - accompanied by modest yeasty bitterness. Finishes tangy, roasty and mildly bitter. The high level of alcohol is nearly imperceptible. Bottle courtesy of wavers1!

A very very sweet aroma. Tons of sour. Some thick notes, but also extremely sour. The wine I think is the culprit...I hope. Otherwise, this deserves a much lower score. Not for me.
