COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So named because it had to endure long sea voyages from breweries in England to outposts on the fringes of the British Empire. IPA is a high alcohol, well-hopped brew to enable it to last the voyage and not spoil. 50 IBU's, 15.38 Plato, 6.3% ABV

This one I actually find fairly tasty. Bittering hops at the end, but some floral notes earlier. A bit pale in color, but mostly pretty good.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange color with hardly any head. Light, musky hoppy aroma. Kind of metally as well. Confusing taste. Light hops, Some tanginess, but aside from that nothing that blows me away. A below average IPA in my opinion.

Aroma of Vanilla, hops, malt and caramel. Appearance is a light gold with a medium foam top. Taste is a bland watery hop taste. Overall, this is not very good at all. Just hops and water are present. I’d give this a D rating tops.

Bomber. Light hoppy flavors with little bitterness. A little soapy? Some lemon citrus balanced with some caramel. Finish is slightly bitter, but a bit off.

On tap at the brewpub. It pours golden yellow with a white head. The aroma is sweet berry-like hops and some buttery toffee malts. The flavor is nicer with some sweet caramel malts that give way to a drier grassy hop finish. Pretty strong finish actually. Not bad, just not a standout.

Bottle:   Orange side of amber, hazy, thin white frothy head, spotty lacing.   Mainly a citrus based nose, slight powdery sugary candyishness.   Soft hop bitterness up front, citrus zest, a little astringency follows.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   No real hop bitterness to speak up.   Flavorful, but also in that articifial sense.   Seems pretty ho-hum.   Getting a little metal towards the backside.   Not a very bright, vibrant, hoppy beer.   Not on the weak side either.   Pretty ho-hum, that could use a little cleaning up.   Fairly average, or slightly above.

Bottle... Poured amber with khaki head. Hops were spicy and resinous with decent bitterness. Caramel malt sweetness to balance.

Deep yellow to light gold with a slight haze; frothy white head with nice lace. Smooth and light to medium bodied. Upon my first sip, all I noticed was caramel. After I became desensitized to it, I noticed some other things going on. Some biscuit. Some citrus. A bit of floral bitterness. Kind of sticky and only mildly bitter. Malts are kinda’ 60 and hops are kinda’ 40, which isn’t something I appreciate in an IPA. Nevertheless, it’s a pleasant and easy-drinking IPA. Just a little too sweet, too restrained (hop-wise) and too malt forward for my liking.

Bomber from BevMo Salinas. Nose is light citrus and hints of caramel malt. Lightly hazy urine yellow with a medium yellow tinged head. Flavor is some lemony citrus, light bitterness, and some asparagus.

Bomber. Pours clear gold with a thin white head. The nose if toffee and ripe citrus. The taste is caramel, orange and some tart grapefruit in the finish. Medium bodied. Tasty little IPA. Not earth shattering but solid.
