COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ale is made with a special roast of caramel malt, which gives it a lovely red hue and subtle caramel flavor. A large amount of hops is added late to the kettle and the fermentor, giving this beer a wonderful floral nose with hints of nectar and citrus carrying through to the palate. 23.6 IBU, 16.35 Plato, 7.65%

Copper color with characteristic Blue Frog fine-toothed head. Aroma of toffee, lightly roasted coffee and light citrus hops. Flavor of intense caramel, lightly herby/grapefruity hops. Finishes substantially bitter. Quite pleased with this one.

Pours a fantastic deep red color. Big malty aromas and flavors. Nice big bitter finish. Excellent.

Auburn red in color with a small white head. Aroma of toasty caramel malt and a little bit of Pacific Northwest Hops. Nice caramel malt flavors. Not too sweet though. A little toasty malt too. Finish is mildly hoppy. Probably more crisp than anything. A nice amber ale. Probably the best thing I have had from this brewery.

On tap at the brewpub. It pours a reddish copper color with an off white head. The aroma is very strong of caramel with some herbal hoppiness. The flavor has caramel, berries and a strong hoppy finish with hints of pine, spice and toasted malt. Probably their best beer that I’ve had.

Tasted during the San Diego Fesival of Beer. Reddish color with smallish off-white head. Decent citrus aromas. Flavors were a little more toasted, with a nice hoppy finish. Not too bad

From tap at the brewpub. Pours golden amber to dark orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is light caramelish and dry breadish. Fruity, quite hoppy fruity and with a mild phenolic note. Bitter, dry and fruity finish.

5 ounce sample tasted at the Fair Oaks Brewfest. Musty, yeasty, sweet, candy sugar aroma. A touch of ethanol is also present. Seems way off for the style. Not the best aroma. May be due to the plastic cup, though. Amber body with a small off-white head. Very malty, somewhat sweet flavor, which finishes with lots of peaty flavors. Drinkable and tasty. This is kind of like a lighter-colored baby scotch ale. Tasty.

Nice amber coloured ale with a nice nitro head. Sweet caramel malt aroma with light floral hops notes. In mouth, sweetish nutty malt, with nice roasted notes, light butterscotch and medium bodied. On tap at BP, August 2005.
