2.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Bambalanz (14) - temecula, California, USA - AUG 2, 2012
Aroma starts malty with apricot hints, not a good sign for me. I prefer my ipa to smell like a pine tree. It sits almost opaquely amber caramel in the glass, and laces well. Sweet is the first sip, and then bitter, and then sweet again. It’s a bit fizzy in a sharp way and the hops are in the wrong part of the taste. IMHO the hops should lead the taste in to a full malty (but not overly sweet) finish. This hints at being an IPA but doesn’t come through with the goods. I’ll drink it, but probably won’t bother buying it again.

Not the best beer, doesn’t hide the alcohol that well. Sweet then bitter taste, doesn’t showcase the hops very well.
