0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 1/20
Absolutely one of the less fortunate beer out there. Nothing about it is outstanding... just a very regular low quality bee pretending to be German and premium.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
UPDATED: SEP 13, 2013 Claiming to be the leading brand in HK and Macau. Tasteless, odourless. Not even salty/bready as Hite or those Japanese "draft" beers. The alleged popularity tells you something about the majority that likes it, and perhaps not the product. But then, when one considers the heat of Hong Kong, this will be nice and cold, in 7Eleven, available at no further than 50 metres from wherever you are. Finally, I love the presentation, with the naiad/goddess (?) on renaissance grotesquerie style.

Can: Aroma is corny, grainy. Pale golden color, white head. Flavor is grainy, corny, no hops, some bitterness. Another boring, watery and corny Asian macro.

Saw this everywhere in Hong Kong and it is more expensive than Guinness in the convenience stores, so had to try. Turns out it is Korean which is ironic because I don’t recall seeing it in Seoul. Typical asian Budweiser equivalent.

0.9 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
500 ml bottle, ordered and shared while having dinner with friends in Kowloon City.
Piss-like pale yellow colour; Razor thin head and white foam which fades in 20 seconds; Minimal lacing and active carbonation; Almost no smell, only some faint notes of corn syrup; Sweet taste of malt, corn, rice, apple juice, green apple, light wet cardboard, and trace of citrus. Wet cardboard becomes increasingly strong as the beer warms; Medium body with oily shin and palate; Hoppiness is minimal and has no finish. Slightly dry after taste, very easy to mouth.
Comments: Another poorly made cheapo macro - close to cloying sweet, spiked with green apples, virtually no smell, no hoppiness. My friends were surprised when I said it was made in South Korea, when we were under the false impression of being a German import via TV ads we grew up with. The ad series, featuring Foreigner’s Waiting For A Girl Like You as the beer signature slogan, seems to hypnotize unsuspecting HK consumers pretty well as it’s now one of the popular brands here. “Waiting For A Girl Like You?” Not me, definitely.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Various bottle sizes @ different locations in Hong Kong. Appearance and taste is what you expect from a lager, nothing special. It has, however, more taste than the avarage hot climate lagers and can be quite refreshing.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Medium white head. Clear yellow body with light carbonation. Light strawy aroma with faint jasmine notes. Dry grainy strawy taste with cardboard notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, fairly smooth, mealy mouthfeel. Dry corn and grass aftertaste with herbal dandelion notes. At the very end: cardboard again. It does have some character, but it’s not the most agreeable of characters. (0.33l bottle, Wellcome, Lohas Park, Hong Kong.)
