Gift from Kenny and Savannah. Same color as urine when you have not been drinking enough water. 3 bubbles total. Aroma of orange. Pepper taste with coriander and yeast.

This beer was offensively bad. Smelled like wet dog when I poured it, tasted like moldy bread when I drank it. Looks more like a hefeweizen and almost tastes like the y ried to mix these two styles and it ended very poorly.

(Sample Date: 3/19/2011 Source:Capital Ale House - Innsbrook) Pint at the brewery. Fruity spicy with sweet grain notes. Spicy yeast character. Medium golden with small white head. Flavor similar to aroma with lots of peppery yeast character. Medium to full body, sweet, with perceptible alcohol and a touch of hot phenolics.

pours a rich gold topped with a foamy white head. Aromas of fruit, specifically pineapple, and juicy fruit chewing gum dominate, with maybe some musty barnyard thrown in. Very malty taste, freshly baked bread, Smooth body, nicely integrated alcohol. Interesting but not my thing generally.

Tap. Pours hazy gold with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, straw), light hops (floral), and average esters (fruity, banana) with faint bubble gum notes. Flavor is heavy malt (bread, cookie, straw), light hops (floral), and average esters (fruity, apple/pear, banana) with notes of alcohol, bubble gum, clove, and ginger. Full body, medium warmth and carbonation, and low creaminess with a dry finish.

Ugh, another "Belgian" ale from the Commonwealth that...tastes like a (dull) American Pale. Some pepper notes here, but coriander/clove/other spices are absent or blown out of the water by the hoppiness. Bitter, astringent, and not terribly strong either. Another mighty VA disappointment

On tap at the brewery on 02/28/2009. Hazy golden body with a large frothy off-white haed. Sweet banana, clove, spice, and fruit aroma. Sweet fruity flavor with clove, belgian spice and slight tart hints. Light body with moderate carbonation.

22oz from Once Upon a Vine, Richmond. Nothing wrong with the pour, crisp and clean looking golden body with just a hint of honey tinting. Modest carbonation, and lively as to style. But the aroma, whoa. To say this is astringent is to say not nearly enough. It’s like the water in which you’ve boiled vegetables blended with barrel-aged band-aids. The only reason I’m not giving the aroma 1 is that it subsides enough to merit a 3 for blessed anonymity. The taste is acrid, a mess of yeast, dank tea, and some citrus that’s given up the fight. So yeah, I reckon it’s pretty badly infected (and not just because of the sudden headache I got).

Poured a hazy golden color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus fruits, Belgian spices, yeast, and honey. Taste of citrus fruits, grapefruit, honey, toast, and light spices in the finish.
