Bright cider-gold. Good nose, malty and grassy. Nice flavor, malts are very toasty and bready, interesting apple-esque tartness at the end with some hops. Not particularly traditional in what I expect from a lager, but still quite good.

Pour deep gold, with a slight haze. Nice head lingers well, leaving rings of lace on the glass. Aroma is soft malt, with hints of hops. Perhaps a touch of sourness in the aroma. Flavor is all malt, but with a nice hop balance, although staying firmly in the malty arena. Aftertaste is smooth, light malt, and leaves a pleasant soft sweetness on the tongue. Body is medium.

Tap. Pours clear gold with a large, creamy and frothy white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (grainy, hay, straw, cereal), light hops (spicy), and light esters (fruity) with vegetal notes. Flavor is heavy malt (grainy, hay, meal, cereal), light hops (spicy), and light esters (fruity) with vegetal notes. Light body, low warmth and creaminess, high carbonation with a dry and biting finish.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 outerupt (133) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JAN 10, 2006
22oz bottle. Poured a well laced head complete with lovely soapy birdseye bubbles. A very well made modern styled lager. There are plenty of fruity, mildly spiced, and woody notes on the nose. The flavor is full with a nice warming finish. Not my ideal for a blistering summer lager but a great session beer for most any other time of year.

Draft at the brewpub. Very clear pale yellow, small white edge head. Aroma of straw and white pepper. Taste is bitter citrus. Not bad.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Foxbush (991) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAY 11, 2006
This was tasted at the brewry in Fredericksburg. Jeff Fitzpatrick was busy making and bottling while I sampled their products. A nice gentleman by the name of Jack was very helpful in teaching me about the brewery. They were making Brown Ale for another brewer. The lager was excellent very creamy and more maltiness than other lager with a hint of hops. It had amedium body with a wonderful head with very small bubbles. I also learned about a new vessel that is pressurized. I will try in the future.

Clear light amber pour. Fizzy white head and spotty lace. Nicely carbonated . Corny aroma. Grains, grassy hops, and honey. Crisp finish. Overall very solid especially for a style I’m not too fond of.

22 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market Fairfax. Pours a clear golden amber color with a medium head. Fair head retention and lacing. Sweet and grassy aroma... with honey and corn. Taste is pale lightly toasted malts, bitter grassy hops and light fruity notes. Fairly crisp and refreshing. Medium bodied.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Braudog (5026) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - OCT 1, 2006
Sampled at the brewery, now rating from my take-home 22 oz bomber. Poured a true amber color with an initial burst of carbonation that fizzled quickly. Light flowery aroma. Slick and sweet, this has quite the perfumey flourish of a hoppy contribution.

Draught @ Capital Ale House: This one pours a clear golden color. There was a small white head on it that did not linger nor leave any lacing. Mild but decent nose. Some malts, touch sweet, corn, maybe some floral hops. The taste isn’t bad. Better than most beers of this ilk. Clean, crisp taste. Easy to drink.
