bottle... dark brown, a bit of a watery head... the nose is pretty nice, light bourbon with chocolate... tastes pretty light and easy to drink for a 13% but not very memorable

Big thick black body with a small tannish head that leaves limited retention and no lacing... Aroma is of roast and bourbon with a notable coconut... Flavor profile follows suit... Relatively uncarbonated, nice beer...

Pours deep brown/black with a very thin and wispy mocha head. Aroma is loaded with bourbon but not boozy...some toasted coconut and caramel...vanilla. flavor is roasted with some charred woodiness and good bourbon...mild dark chocolate and vanilla. Mouthfeel is full but very low in carbonation...finish is roasty, dry, and warming.

Bottle shared at Jackie-Os. Poured into a snifter. Appearance is a black with a thin tan head of foam. Aroma is oddly reminiscent of blueberries. Not sure how that happened. Anyway, taste is a bit fruity. I get notes of coffee, chocolate, some barrel, and those blueberries again. I don’t know if this was intended, but it worked for me. Pretty good. Thanks for sharing.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Clear black ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. Good retention. The aroma offers up huge components of white oak and coconut. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and zippy carbonation. The flavor is a luxuriant mélange of coconut, milk chocolate and sourmash. Warm, not hot, alcohol here. Finishes bittersweet and a good bit bourbony. 13% abv? Really? I’m not picking up on that. World class imperial stout provided by scraff!

Bomber courtesy of ksurkin. Pours a deep clear mahogany with dark tan head. The aroma is chocolate malt balls, earthiness and apples as well as some bourbon and wood. The taste is smooth yummy chocolate and toffee and malt balls rolling into richer chocolate goodness, smooth bourbon, mild wood notes and growing booziness into the finish. Nice stuff. Wow. The flavor notes really work well together creating a toffee, chocolate, malted milk shake like latte experience until the heat shows up and thus breaking up the level of yumminess that was attained.

Thanks to jcwattsrugger for the share. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Nose is bourbon, whiskey, vanilla, some coconut, and booze burn. Flavor is similar with sweetened chocolate up front, vanilla, marshmallow, some toasted coconut, and booze burn. Light to medium in body for a barrel-aged stout. Enjoyable, yet very sweet.

22oz bottle looks great on the pour, 99% opaque deep brown with a creamy, thick, lacing beige head. Nose smelled a little infected to me, prunes, lacto, cherries, light vanilla, some berry, burnt toast, stale coffee. Flavor is sweet, light smoke, burnt toast, malty, caramel, maraschino cherry, coffee liqueur, malt extract. It’s a touch cloying in the mouth. The barrel is nice, well balanced in terms of having enough barrel flavor, but it could have benefits from less alcohol and less sugar. Fairly smooth all the way through though, and easily drinkable. I have mixed emotions, I like it for the smart way it was barrel aged but the base beer is not quite there.
