Leichtes Weiss (pronounced lice-tis or lysh-tis Vice) is a milder version of a German Hefeweizen. Rarely found outside of Germany, it has muted banana/clove aromas, less mouthfeel, and less alcohol than a standard hefe. Not exactly a "light" beer, clocking in at 3.9% alcohol, it is a great summer refresher.

On draught at the Blue Heron brewpub in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-hazy golden straw colored brew with a decent sized white head that has some excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of golden grain malt, a hint of wheat, some banana esters, cloves and a touch of bubblegum. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors of golden grain malt with wheat, bubblegum and a touch of honey. Finish is semi-sweet with a light banana/yeast aftertaste that quickly disappears.
