Our 90+ schilling is far and away a wee heavy. Hop presence is kept low to allow the full richness of seven different malts to shine through.

Tap at BH. The flavor profile is right on. The body is just thin, neutered, lacking depth. Slickly sweet. Extract blandness.

On tap at the brew pub. Dark brown with orange tints. Medium sized light tan head is mostly diminishing. Caramel, mild peat and fresh dried grasses in the nose. Sweet flavor, modest caramel and toffee with very mild alcohol. Finish is moderately grainy. Just ok.

Deep copper color with a foamy tan head. There is a light toffee aroma. The flavor has a mild fruity note and the body is rich and malty with a dry finish. This is a very nice representation of the style. This brew is helpful for us americans with the post McEwan’s blues.

Moderate malty aroma accompanying a copper brown pour. The taste is thick and malty wig a slightly alcoholic presence.

On draught at the Blue Heron brewpub in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Pours a clear dark copper amber colored brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma is quite malty of caramel and multi-grain malt, a hint of peat, alcohol and a touch of dark pitted fruits. Taste is full bodied, some extra alcohol kick, caramel, peat and some floral hops. Finish has a strong alcohol presence, slightly metallic that hides any hop bitterness.
