Marshfield Brewery opened in 1890 and closed in 1967. Their signature beer was Marshfield Lager. We have unfortunately been unable to find that recipe, however we worked with MASH to build a classic pre-prohibition lager we believe would have been similar to the Marshfield classic. Raise a glass and toast Grandpa!

On draught at the Blue Heron brewpub in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Pours a clear golden pale colored lager with a creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some excellent lacing. Aroma of golden grain malt, some fruity esters, a hint of citrus hops and a touch of honey. Taste is light to medium bodied, some extra carbonation with flavors of golden grain malt, some spicy noble saaz-like hops, a hint of tart apple and citrus zest. Finish is semi-dry that a sharp bitterness that quickly disappears.
