I’ve been trying to chase this one down for two years, finally captured this one. On draught at the Blue Heron brewpub in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper colored brew with a thick off-white head that slowly dissipates to a film top and white ring. Spotty lacing throughout. Aroma of caramel malt, some toffee, tropical fruit and a hint of lager yeast. Taste is medium to full bodied, with flavors of caramel apple, Munich malt, and a touch of dark pitted fruits. Finish is malty, though evenly balanced at first, it has a slightly sweet apple and caramel aftertaste. Everything I expect in a Munich style Oktoberfest.
