COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after an historical Marshfield resident, this complex lager is an enjoyment of the passing of winter. With Spring coming, the natural transition from cold to warmer temperatures brings us to the traditional release of the Bock style of beer. This brew has beautiful malty noise with an off-white head that is a top a wonderful reddish body. This lager has a bit of sweet malt flavor that is smooth and finishes clean on the tongue.

On tap at the brew pub. Dark garnet brown with a very small white head. Mild coffee, toffee, candied dates and brown sugar dominate the aroma. Moderately sweet flavor that slowly wanes, with notes of bakers chocolate, dusty wheat, caramel candies and old coffee. Sticky texture. Solid, though a little odd to be drinking on June 1.

On draught at the Blue Heron brewpub in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Pours a dark reddish copper colored brew with a thick beige head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma is quite malty with characters of caramel, milk chocolate, a touch of brown sugar and floral hops. Taste is full bodied, malty with flavors of roasted chocolate malt, brown sugar and a hint of floral hops. Finish is sweet, low bitterness with aftertastes of chocolate and toffee along with some light banana. A nice dunkler bock with a flavor profile edging towards a doppelbock.
