Black with a large, light-brown head. Mildly smokey roasted coffee aroma with some underlying graham cracker and dark chocolate. Light-to-moderate bitterness with a decent roast. Sweet coffee/dark chocolate flavors mingle well together. Finishes mildly sweet and just a hair thin bodied.

On draught at the Blue Heron brewpub in Mashfield, Wisconsin. Pours an opaque dark brown colored brew with a creamy tan head that has some excellent retention and nice lacing. Aroma of toasted dark malt, a hint of coffee, Baker’s chocolate and plenty of oatmeal. Taste is medium to full bodied, more toasted malt flavors than the aroma with some oatmeal smoothness. Finish has a short lived sharp bitterness than a toasted dark malt aftertaste. Not as sweet as the former Blue Heron Hub City Stout, but still quite tasty.
