Said it was 11 percent at the brewery. Complete sugar bomb. Still has some nice yeasty notes, but no subtlety. Not on par with a Belgian Ale in any way. Homebrew. OK.

On tap at brewpub. Of the 3 beers I had at Blue Heron, this one easily impressed me the most. Warming, Belgian character throughout, perfect balance, fruity, moderate sweetness. A true treat.

On tap at the brew pub. Clear golden with nearly no head. Slight honey aroma with light grains, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it banana and light-to-moderate alcohol. Wow, this is sweet - nearly mead-like in its initial honey/sugar sweetness - though it thankfully wanes into some graham cracker (though the burnt sugar finish lingers). Alcohol is noticeable. A far cry from a tripel, but not horrible.

Not much flavor here except for the heavy alcohol taste. This beer does a terrible job of hiding the alcohol bite. Not too good.

On draught at the Blue Heron brewpub in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Pours a clear golden amber brew with a creamy white head that slowly dissolves to a thin white film and excellent lacing. Aroma of banana bread, some orange and coriander, caramel, cotton candy and some yeast. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of banana, yeast, cotton candy, a hint of wintergreen and some pepper spice. Finish has a short lived mild bitterness and a high alcohol profile. A tad hot in the finish. Potential for an outstanding tripel but needs maybe at least two more months of aging to smooth out the finish profile.
