...this refreshing Marzenbier obtains its flavor from Munich and Vienna malts carefully balanced with a helping of Hallertauer hops.

Pretty bad. Awful actually. I bought this on the clearance table at Wines & More in Mansfield MA and I can see why. Flat shallow and thin. Tastes and smells bad. Down the drain it shall go. Avoid.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a mostly clear gold with a thin-moderate very fizzy linen white head that vaporizes almost instantly and leaves no lace. This pours much more like a soda than a beer. The aroma is malt with some sour notes oddly enough and a bit of lemon/lime sweetness. The flavor begins with a bit of malt but a definite sour note which obviously does not belong emerges. Thin bodied. Strange brew.

Pours a trhick slightly off white head that quickly dissapates leaving a thin foam ring with almost no lacing. Slight malty nose. Color is cloudy orange brown. Carbonation is fine and consistent. Body is thin medium. Mothfeel with a slight malt up front with a citrus after taste that dominates. It is different from other marzens I have tried. The lager crispness is welcome in a marzen. I have another 22 oz bottle that I wll let age and see what happens to the citrus taste.

johnnnniee (992) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 2, 2011
Pours a slightly cloudy deep copper color with a decent beige head that slowly dissipates to nothing. Smells of caramel and hints of chocolate, malty and bready with an earthy edge from the hops. Taste is bready and slightly fruity. Earthy hops cut through the malty sweetness even a little too much. Slight chocolate and caramel seem a bit out of place. Medium body with a crisp carbonation and an almost tart mouthfeel. Decent enough brew, but nothing at all like the real deal’s from Germany. That aromatic malt and melanoid are sadly lacking in this example.

Pours deep amber into a stein. White head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Sweet toffee aromas. Full with sweet caramel and nuts front to back.
