Blue Marlin has been swimming in our market since 1990. Released as a strong beer with a 6% alcohol content, Blue Marlin was rapidly caught and became a very familiar brand to Mauritians and consumers overseas.

Thanks to Janni & Rasmus for bringing this can all the way from Mauritius during their honeymoon. Odense Prestige tasting at Jens. Clear offyellow look with fast head and aroma/flavor of corn, malt, good metal, some weak hops and not bad for an international pilsner if tasted very cold close to 0 degrees Celcius.

330ml bottle, BB July 2015, 6%, brewed in Pont Fer. Hazy yellow, lightly sparkling, small foamy white head, sparse lacing. Aroma is metallic and musty up front with background citrus. Body is medium to light, spritzy, foamy. Taste is light with some corn, thin malts, sweet. A thin flavour, but nothing offensive at all. Soft dryness in the finish.

33cl bottle bought at Internationales Berliner Bierfestival. Pours clear golden with a white head. Slightly strange fruity and malty aroma with caramel, notes of tropical fruits and herbs. Medium sweet with fruity, caramelly and some slightly unpleasant flavours. Finishes fairly bitter.

On bottle with Visionthing, thanks a lot! Golden color, ok foam. Aromas of peach, medium intensity( high for a beer of this kind), also some funny notes. Light body & complexity . Ok bitterness ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle @ the 8th Shrewsbury Bottle Share, thanks to Blackhaddock! Pours gold with creamy white head & a sweet honey aroma. Taste is honey, malts and hay. A bit underwhelming but could be worse.

330ml bottle: made on 10 Jan 14. Shared between four of us at the September Shrewsbury bottle swap on 8 Sep 2014. Pleasantly surprised by this beer, especially as most people on here scored it so low. Good, clear golden body with a decent white head. Semi-sweet and malty from the start with minimal hop presence, my sweet tooth liked it. The alcohol sat nicely within the brew and I thought it fine.

16/VII/14 - 33cl can @ home - BB: 26/VI/14 (ohmygodsayitisntso!) (2014-812) Thanks to Mathieu and Barbara for the can!

Clear dark blond beer, big fizzy off-white head, falls down quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: very sweet and malty, grains, hay, some overripe banana. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: very sweet, sugary, lots of banana, slightly bitter. Aftertaste: sweet, again ripe banana, more bitterness towards the end. Not really enjoyable, even not in 30°C while sitting in the sun in my garden.

Bottle from an off license in Enfield. Somewhat corny lager, high abv well hidden making it drinkable enough. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
