COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
An unusual combination of fruity hoppyness with a dark, malty side. This beer is distinctly difficult to categorise – is it sort of a porter or maybe a mild? You decide!

Cask handpull from the Blue Monkey bar, Nottingham 09. Pale ruby with a diminishing tan collar. Dunked choc digestive aroma with shrubby hop; biscuits, nuts and mostly citrus beneath with a good punch of grapefruit and floral soapiness. Afters pistaccchio and light toasty malt, some gritty coffee ground notes there. Definitely not a porter or a mild in the traditional sense; the hop is soapy, bittering and lingering. Whatever, really tasty brew.

Cask. Dark, almost black. Brown head. Smells of fruits. Plums, roastiness. Smokey, with a tight zesty bitter edge. Interesting.

Cask gravity @ Battersea BF 2012. Pours a deep amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity slightly roasted malty caramel flavor with weak hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty caramel finish.

Cask at the Old Mitre, London on 26th October 2011. Deep ruby red with brown head. Quite light body. Smooth mouthfeel. Roasted malts and pungent earthy flavours. Herby notes and touch of smoke. Very bitter lingering aftertaste.

On cask at Cloisters. A dark red beer with a medium light tan head. Hoppy aroma of pine, passion fruit, roasted barley and coffee. Similar flavours with caramel and grass also. Alcohol was fairly present leaving a lingering hum. Mild carbonation and a dry finish.

Cask conditioned at Minehead Beer Fest ’11. The look of Coca Cola, a bubbly dark body with no head. Nutty, woody type malts with malty bitterness too. More on the mild side for me, but I can understand the confusion. Just a little too single minded for me.

Cask (gravity) - The Murderers, Norwich. Fine & bubbly loose tan had, some lacework. Clear but deep reddy brown body. Juicy dark red fruit aromas. Dry almond on the tongue and more juicy dark fruits. An alright, dark fruit dominated porter. Medium bodied in the mouth, soft & well rounded. Condition could’ve been better but still a fair drop.

[cask at Cloisters, Edinburgh] Dark brown with a touch of red, thin lacing. Sweet malty aromas, with toffee and roasty malt on the palate. Thin on the end, but there’s enough sweet roast and nutty malt to make up for it. Decent hop presence too [18022011]
