3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had this in two different bars recently, this review is of a hand pulled pint from the excellent ’Wrekin Inn’ Wellington, Shropshire (Oct 2011).
Golden colour, thin white head, not the best looking beer on earth, but OK.
The smells were of citrusy hops (they are American apparently, Simcoe and Chinook)and some pine like resinous.
Good mix of flavours, well blended with the hops taking centre stage and the hop hovvering in the background, but never far away.
This is fairly strong for a UK IPA, but it hides the alcohol well and although hoppy it is nowhere near the West Coast of the US (currently) style of hop crazy brews.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Gravity at GBBF 2014. Poured a clear, pale golden colour, with a thin white head. Aroma of fresh hops, citrus and mango. Grapefruit hop flavours, with some melon and straw. Finish was lemon, hay and some nice resinous bitterness. A very pleasant surprise.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma: average bread malts. Appearance: clear light gold, small frothy white head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, average-long bitter finish. Overall: not very nice aroma, could be hoppier for an IPA. Pint at GBBF 2014, Kensington.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at GBBF 2014. Clear, confident and robust mid-gold with a thin loose white head. White grape, apple and wood shavings in the aroma. Juicy. Sweetness is quickly overcome by biter hop flavour. A fairly bitter note in the finish along with a slight buttery note that I can’t get to terms with. Full body. This is good, but not one of the top beers I’ve had at the festival. Surprised this is a medal winner with such stiff competition.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask - Floral grapefruit hops. Clear gold with a frothy white head. Dank and cardboard hops. Too bad the flavour doesn’t coin side with the great nose and appearance.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Beers of Europe
Pale blonde, slight haze, thin white head
Aroma - Citrus hops, soft light sweet hop resins, nice light sweet pale malt background, fresh floral citrus hop nose
Taste as aroma, nice fresh zesty citrus, soft floral notes, always like these light sweet pale malts in hoppy beers, some pine, really nice sharp zest
Palate - soft carb, light to medium body, good bitter sweet balance, nice zesty fresh palate. Finish as main flavour, crisp and clean.
Overall - Really good beer, moreish and quaffable

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Golden with a creamy white head and thin lacing. Aroma of malt, tropical fruit, pine and alcohol. Taste is sweet, with tropical fruit, malty with a medium to strong bitter finish with grassy hops and a hint of alcohol. Minerally and slightly spicy. Super.
