Cask at The Organ Grinder, Nottingham. Pours black with a single finger creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, milk chocolate, coffee, molasses...Taste of initial roasted malts then a lovely sweet milk chocolate, toffee, then some caramel, light coffee then added smokiness. Very nice brew!

Bottle from abbeydale beer stop. Pours black with a small short lived head. Aroma is smokey with roasted malts and a bit of coffee and choxolate too. Taste is smoky ashy bitterness. A bit thin, and a bit prickly, but I may have it a bit too cold. Nice stout, ill be looking for it on cask.

Towey1989 (724) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 27, 2015
Cask at The Holy Inadequate, Etruria. A black colour with a creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, milk chocolate, coffee and toffee. Taste of roasted malts, milk chocolate, toffee sweetness balanced coffee bitterness and a little smoke. Medium bodied and smooth texture. A dry, roasted finish with some liquorice in the aftertaste. A great balanced stout from a great brewery, can drink a few of these.

Very dark but clear stout with a thin beige head. Aroma is fruity alcohol and coffee. Flavour starts off as bitter coffee but in quite a mellow way. There’s a fruitiness to it which levels the thing out a touch, with bitter dark chocolate underpinning the flavour and the coffee lingers well after the other flavours have gone. Not only very drinkable but due to the strength and not being as overbearing as some of these beers can be it’s almost a session stout as well.

Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Very dark but not black with a thin off-white creamy head. There’s a hint of sugar sweetness within its otherwise medium roasted malt-aroma and taste.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe [260414]
Pitch black, frothy tan head
Aroma of rich roasted malts, dark malts, dark plain chocolate, quite an intense aroma for the abv, soft coffee, good aroma
Taste as aroma, rich flavour, dark bitter chocolate, roasted malts, nice roast, some dark fruits, complex for the abv, moreish
Palate - soft carb, medium body, quite rich, malis quite mouth clinging, fairly bitter roast but not too much with some nice sweet dark malts. Finish as main flavour, quite rich, fairly long rich dark malt linger.
Overall - Really good stout, nice rich malts for the abv....I’d love to try this on cask one day
