Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, dark roasted, cold coffee, licorice notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, chocolate malt sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100116]

Cask. A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel as well as a hint of butter. The flavor is very sweet with notes of caramel, butterscotch, and malt, leading to a dry and lightly roasted finish.

Cask@GBBF2010. Black colour, not much head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, some mild roasted notes as well as mild vanilla. Flavour is coffee, chocolate, some earth, fruits and mild roasted malts. Quite much bitterness lurking in the background as well.

Cask gravity at Gbbf 2011. Black with dark brown edges. Lasting beige head. Its a decent dry stout with some choc some dark fruots. And good hop finish. Whats the difference between this and a black ipa I hear you cry? very good I thought in fact excellent.

4th August 2010. GBBF. Opaque dark brown beer. Suddy tan head. Light semi dry palate. Fresh minerally dark malt with some subtle fruit underneath. Not bitter but a tad dry. Nice balance of dark malt and fruit.

Caramel and roast aromas. Black fruity and a little rich on the palate with some dryness and bitterness in a crisp roast finish.
