Cask, half-pint at Organ Grinder in Nottingham. Crocheted lacing from a filmy layer. Near-clear amber-gold body. Malt-fruity nose. Taste of lemony hops and brown malts. Satisfying dry, malt-fruity bitterness to the ending. Medium bodied. Just alright (shared with Finn 20.02.2016).

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma: very malty, bread, cereal and grain malts, some floral, grassy hops, some grapefruit. Appearance: hazy gold, large, frothy, white head. Taste: medium bitter. Palate: malty again, then the hops come up, turns dry and bitter in finish. Overall: somewhat average APA, lacks complexity, slightly boring. Pint at GBBF 2015, Kensington Olympia.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Another English interpretation of APA, with loose but stable, snow white head and light hazy ’old gold’ colour. Aroma of flowers, white bread, hints of biscuit and dried peach, floral, honey, light orange sweetness piercing through. Fruity taste, clean, bit appleish, hint of pineapple, soft carbo, smooth mouthfeel, bready malt sweetness, pretty long hoppy finish with both lovely retronasal ’floweriness’ and a deeper, earthy bittering power. Well balanced.
