"Belgian White Ale" (North America) / "North American Craft Beer" (UK)
Brewed with oats for creaminess and spiced with the perfect combination of orange peel and coriander.
An unfiltered wheat ale spiced in the Belgian tradition for an uncommonly smooth taste.

On tap at Vynl, Manhattan, NY. Cloudy orange color, short sustained white head, came with an orange slice on the edge of the glass. Looks almost like a weizen... Aroma of witbier, wheat, spices and orange. Palate feels very astringent and dusty, iper dry. Aroma however is very light. Taste is flat. Short spicy finish. Served very cold, ultra refreshing, not the best thing ever but for sure good for summer.

Hazy yellow pour, quick white head. Nose is yeast and light wheat. Slightly sweet. Middle is muted orange and spice, followed by slick grain. Finish is a bit more dry, not very distinctive.

Bottle 0,355L - gift from Gregor. Murky, ocra colour with small, frothy, white head that dissipate fast. Aroma of coriander, parsley, some other vegetable and spices. Taste is really weird, like drinking beer made of vegetable instead of using malt. Light sweet, weird taste. Hard to drink. Kinda soapy finish. I like Belgian wit beers, but this one is awful.

I still remember the first time I encountered this beer in the heat of Memphis Tennesee in the summer of 2013. Served icecold and with a slice of orange, it really gave me a favourable impression that has lasted as I have had it since both bottled and on tap. The mix of coriander and orange augments the wheat nicely keeping the alcohol in check. Very well balanced and to me a beer all of its own. Have not been able to find it here in Denmark, but would definitely buy it if it turns up. It would be interesting to see if it also travels well

It’s an alright white ale - It’s a lot better than most of the mass manufactured white ales on the market. It pours with about a 1 inch white head with a golden orange body. It has hints of orange which contrasts nicely with the bitter flavor.

Blue Moon is kind of a classic for the style, but plenty of others are doing the style better now.

12 oz. bottle from BevMo. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a white head. Aroma of yeast and faint spices. Malt forward. Creamier than a typical witbier. Not overly spicy. Hints of coriander and orange peel. Little hop taste. All in all very enjoyable, interesting and extremely drinkable.
