Aroma of spice and orange zest. Flavor of wheat, spice, and a dirty sink finish. Vague attempt of a Belgian Wit. mountainforest (111), Edinburgh, Scotland
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Had it on tap off 128 in Boston (before the brewery/restaurant closed). Good experience. Citrus nose. Cloudy appearance. Very bubbly. Good choice on a sunny 4th of July to bring in the fireworks. vulcanmeister (102), La Grande, Oregon, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 14, 2008 Poured opaque orange with a thin head that quickly dissipated. Fragrance of fruit and wheat. Flat mouth feel, then fizzy, and definite citrus tang with very faint echo of wheat. This concluded with an orangey bitterness and then little else. Ok, its beer...orange ade beer, still not bad on a summer day, but not much to offer in the way of complexity. Narnad (689), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 14, 2008 Overall a decent beer. This one was poured from a bottle and had a decently thick white head for about thirty seconds which then diminished. Cloudy orange in appearance. Aroma was strong of citrus and flavor was light on hops with a strong orange flavor. Even though it is Americanized, I enjoy this beer in the summer months. Definitely tastes a lot better from the tap than from the bottle. FishManLA (290), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Seems like all American attempts at a "Belgian White Ale" are quite similar. Not that that’s bad, necessarily, but if it’s an "American Belgian White" it’s going to taste like oranges, have a nose of citrus fruit, have a cloudy orange color, and a soda-pop like carbonation. Yep, that describes Blue Moon! They really ought to market the stuff under the name "Mikes Hard Orangeade". Crazy thing is, I kind of like it! I like Leinenkugels Sunset Wheat too, and might have a hard time telling this stuff from Leinenkugels in a blind test. Guess I’m not enough of a beer snob. Soonah (910), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Dirty blond and tan pour that was somewhat unattractive. The head was almost two fingers tall and was gone quickly. Spots of lacing. The aroma was bad. Smelled like wheat and spice brewed in dirty dishwater. Tasted better.dry wheat and mild spice against some thin tart citrus. The mouthfeel was thin, lots of carbonation. illidurit (873), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Poured into a goblet. Light in color even for the style, with a fizzy white head that recedes without leaving behind any lacing. Aroma is lemony and wheaty, with maybe a touch of spice. Pretty average. Tastes watered down, with the predictable citrus and grain. Seriously lacking the complexity that makes, say, St. Bernardus Witbier so great. Mouthfeel is highly carbonated and thin. High drinkability. changeup45 (788), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 11, 2008 A dirty water/cloudy look to it but seemed to pour an okay head. Easy to detect the citrus, lemon flavor but it was pretty smooth. Pretty refreshing on a 90 degree day (which it was). They served it with an orange slice on the glass though. Why? It’s already got PLENTY of citrus taste to it! My buddy threw the orange in the drink and did regret that, glad I didn’t. I can certainly see this being a "chick beer" which is why I probably won’t have it too often.
