On tap at Stroudt’s in Kansas City. Pours a hazy golden orange color with white head. Wheat, citrus, yeasty flavors. Reminds me of when I turned 21.

Bottle, 0.35l. Hazy yellow colour with decent sized white head. Lively carbonation. Citrus and wheat aroma. Taste of orange, wheat and some herbs. Moderate bitter aftertaste. Overall decent brew.

This was my first Belgian White and the second type of beer that I drank at a recent wedding. It’s relatively light but has good taste and is smooth. It was easy to drink and enjoyable but not a style that I would add to my favorites.

Not much you can say about blue moon that hasn’t already been said. It’s a lovely drink. Nothing complex. Just a wee fizz, light head. Nice with a slice of orange for a double citrus buzz.

Cheers!

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 7/11/2016. Pours very hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with decent retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, coriander, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant around with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, coriander, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Minimal herbal/spice bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, pear, apple, coriander, wheat, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and bready malt flavors; with a good malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.4%. Overall this is a good witbier. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2016 I am a bit surprised about the low ratings for this beer - in my opinion it is a superb wit beer. The taste of oranges and coriander define this beer, and the taste lingers for quite some time. It is very refreshing and ideal for a summer evening. It also looks nice and is a bit sweet. Try it!

12oz bottle - Pours a cloudy pale yellow with white head that fades quickly. Fruity aroma, lemon, banana, cloves; Floral and doughy. Flavors of the same; mildly bitter. Belgian yeast detectable. A bit thin.
