Brewed with oats for creaminess and spiced with the perfect combination of orange peel and coriander.
An unfiltered wheat ale spiced in the Belgian tradition for an uncommonly smooth taste.

Typical wheat beer taste, but much smoother than most wheats. Poured from pitcher into a pint glass with an orange garnish. Not an enormous aroma, but taste was that of citrus/orange. Orange sliced squeezed in added some extra flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Heard great things about this beer in particular, all of them were true. It has that particular true Pilsner taste which doesn’t disappoint at all.

355 ml bottle. Pours a straw yellow colour with a medium white head. Aroma of citrus fruits and coriander. Taste is light sour. Above average carbonation. A bit too thin for a good wit.

This is one of the beers that started me branching away from my AB/St. Louis roots. Now just average to me compared to the much tastier beers I drink. Nice color and orangey somewhat sweeter taste. Average aroma and palate. It really does taste better with an orange in it.

A tale of two halves here. It looks great with the unfiltered element giving a very inviting colour and haze. The aroma is sweet and typical of the variety. The taste let’s it down here. I didn’t have it upright in the fridge as I didn’t know it was unfiltered so I may be doing it a disservice. Its meaty and orangey, the oats seem to leave it unbalaced however this gives it a nice mouthful creaminess. The taste goes from orange to meat to thin and back to meat and lemon. Could do better. I wanted to review this higher and I still might be too generous. But the appearance , aroma and look is simply great.

Appearance: a hazy yellow color with a medium head. Aroma: smells like orange peel, lemon and wheat. Tastes like some fruits and other citrus notes. Refreshing but not a good witbier.

Purchased in a 355ml bottle (if that figure seems a little random, it is the equivalent of 12 fl oz) in Sainsbury’s as ’North American Craft Beer Blue Moon’.’ North American’ is significant, because it is a Denver beer brewed in Toronto. The label is almost identical to the one in the illustration. The beer is a very hazy golden yellow with a white head. Spicy and zesty aromas. The taste is much creamier than a regular witbier, lacking the zestiness of a typical Belgian example. I would guess this comes from the use of oats in the Blue Moon brewing process. It has hints of coriander and orange peel, but little hop taste. This is a very pleasant, interesting and drinkable beer.
