Good summer beer. Having an orange is helpful. Cloudy orange color with moderate head.

GOOD BEGINERS BEERS. I DONT DRINK MUCH BELGIUM WHEATS BUT AT WALMART’S THE CHOICE IS SLIM. BLUE MOON IS LIKE SPICES AND FRUITS BUT YOU CAN FEEL THE CARBONEATION IN YOUR STOMACHE. ITS EASY TO DRINK. YOU CAN REALLY DRINK IT. IF I DONT FEEL LIKE GO FAR AND IM GOING TO THE POOL I CAN STOP AT WALMART’S BYE TRUNKS FRIZBEE BLUE MOON’S MEAT PROPANE AMMO AND EAT AT MACDONALD’S AT THE ONE STOP. PROBLY WHAT ILL DO IS START WITH ONE PLINY (I LOVE IT!!) AND TWO AND THEN DRINK BLUE MOON. IF THE NITE GETS REAL HAREY THEN MAYBE STEELE RESERVE I HIPE NOT COS THAT MEANT THAT MY DUMAS CUSIN SHOW UP AND I MAY WAKE UP IN THE DITCH AGIAN.

apperance - cloudy, a bit darker than white. Aroma - some banana, some other vague fruit. Taste - also non-specific fruits, a pleasantly sweet finish. Mouthfeel is good. There are better witbiers out there at this price, but this is a not unpleasant choice.

First Belgium white for me pours cloudy with small silky head tastesnorange peel with a pepper finish quite a smooth beer with flavours in the background nice beer but much prefer the German wheat beers with the sweeter taste

Pours cloudy gold with quickly disappearing head. Aroma is slightly citrusy, bready, grassy. Has a somewhat artificial tasting citrus flavor, very light, with a sort of musty flavor that comes up through the nose. Great for an American macro, not particularly good compared to other beers.

Some strong stuff. I had this my first time drinking beer, with Bud Light, SA Boston lager and coors light. First one i finished. Kind of strong and for a first time drinker will sit you on your ass. May not seem right for a beer. But it isnt the fact its super strong albeit its 5.4. Its a sneaky kind of beer where it only hits you when you stand up... Ah. good times. Blue moon was my first ale, and i like it and it has a high nostalgia feeling for me.

So I'm giving the beer an 11 because, all in all, it's rather drinkable. Pours a hazy medium orange-gold with a short-lasting white head. Aromas of orange peel and grain. Taste is overwhelmingly orange peel with some salty notes. Unfortunately, a rather thin body and not very much character -- tastes like a less-sweet Orange Crush sometimes.

Belgian style witbier from Denver, from a craft brewery which has apparently been taken over by Coors. Thin, lightly moussy, off-white head breaking open quickly but retaining around the edges, over a completely cloudy peach blonde beer with a ’fog’ of yeast in the middle. Aroma very wheaty and soapy, impressions of green apple peel, fabric softener, freshly cut sorrel, unripe mango, hint of lime, fresh fish, coriander seed, sourdough, something vaguely sulphuric (H2S?), celery, hint of dried orange peel, chalk. Fruity taste, peach, pear, apple, fairly strong and tingling carbo, dull sourish wheat, soft velvety mouthfeel (oats), sweetish touch of banana and peach, bit honeyish pairing well with the grainy wheat sourishness, fairly strong bready yeastiness but still rather refreshing, citrussy touch but more so, a drying coriander effect, though it stays relatively soft in comparison with many Belgian witbiers; not too unpleasant finish (at least for this style) of lingering ’breadiness’ with persisting wheat sourishness, with the drying, resinous coriander effect remaining relatively subtle but also a powder sugar-like, somewhat honeyish sweetness; rather thinnish body. Witbier is not my favorite style I’m afraid, but this is not a truly bad example of it, albeit a dull one, smelling too much of fish and soap, which did put me off a bit. In all, still acceptable introduction to the style I suppose, but underachieving if compared with the best Belgian witbiers - and those are not the many copies of Hoegaarden, to my personal taste. In fact, I’d even have a Hoegaarden over this; the fact that adding a slice of orange to it is even explicitly advertized on the back label, should have made me more suspicious, I guess.
