jcdsmack (65), Henderson, Nevada, USA Sep 25, 2008 This is a solid Belgian wit. I often will have this if I’m out at a sportsbar or some other place that is limited in it’s beer selection. Nice thick wheatiness good color and texture. I don’t put fruit slices in my beer, but some people like it with orange.
DerWeg (457), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 8, 2009 Bottle Shop in South Beach Miami. Fairly tired and dull sweet wheat malt profile, lack of spice or citrus character. Main weaknesses are the feel of the palate, the lack of varied aromas, and the marked superiority of easily found Belgian Wits like Brussels White , Blanche de Chambly or Hoegaarden. lancegill (3), , Texas, USA does not count Jan 6, 2009 I first had on tap and loved it. Tried from bottle and it tasted different, darker and kind of stale. Still a good beer but doesn’t really taste like a true Belgian witbier. The label should say "Belgian Style" and not "Belgian Ale". Shock Top actually tastes closer to one to me. 502Flavors (410), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Jan 4, 2009 bottle into my mouth. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh not a true belgian white!!! ChainGangGuy (1808), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jan 4, 2009 Appearance: Cloudy, dull, golden-orange body with a small, fizzy, white head.
Smell: Notes of orangey citrus and perky spices infuse the wheaty nose of Blue Moon.
Taste: Tangy, lightly creamy malted wheat. A taste of citrus zest and a fair dose of spice interrupts the brief sweetness. Light, spicy hops and bitterness provides a bit of balance. Finishes tangy with a light, lingering hint of spice and orange.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium, fizzy carbonation.
Drinkability: It certainly has some stuff going for it. It’s very easily available, rather drinkable, relatively inexpensive, and isn’t altogether dreadful. breilly2 (3), , New Jersey, USA does not count Jan 3, 2009 good taste, great flavor. lots of carbonation. malty with a hint of orange.
