Straight from the bottle to my mouth. Nice initial, refreshing hit. But backend aftertaste is too much. Just ok.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pretty much bought the mix pack for this beer, man I’m a sucker, pours a dark amber brown with an off white head, aroma had a hint of blackberry with a lot of sweetness and malt, the flavor has a little bit blackberry with a really malty finish, I mean I know this wasn’t going to be vsb by any means, but when tart is in the name it should at least somewhat live up to it, this doesn’t.

Drank out of a bottle. Really sweet but the tartness is overwhelming. Can taste the blackberries. Not my favorite!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled at Rum River Wine & Spirits. This was not very tart, not very sweet, just a mediocre base with some subtle berry flavor.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Clear, deep amber with a hint of purple. Aroma only had hints of blackberry. Taste had even less blackberry. Not really very tart and not really all that sweet. Just kind of average.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours clear coppery amber with a thin eggshell head. Aroma is not strong, but it does have a good note of blackberry. I LOVE blackberries! More blackberry in the flavor -which is otherwise rather insipid. Mouthfeel hS weK fizz and not much body.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This is neither tart nor particularly flavorful in the blackberry department. It just tastes like a kinda bland fake micro, which is what it is so, hey, can’t get mad at them for false advertising. It’s clear and copper colored w/ a head of fine, white bubbles. It’s nose is a touch on the malty side w/ maybe a vague hint of fruitiness. Taste is also a bit earthy and malty w/ maybe a very, very slight hint of acidity which I would never have noticed if not for the name of this beer. Overall, aside from not tasting like what you’d expect this is pretty good for Blue Moon, I might call it a special bitter or something.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear ruby color with a small white head. A light sugary berry nose. Light dark toffee and chocolate malts, odd berries, almost like overripe sugary flavors. Not very natural. Yeasty. Bizzare brew really. Somewhat drinkable. Tastes a bit like glue flavored with berries.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Notes from shared bottle at Craft. Copper toward magenta pour. Some blackberry, caramel malt, in the nose, medium to light palate heft and complexity. OK, not great.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – Pours an amber color with hints of a purplish tint running through. Upon pouring there is a one finger white head that fades rather fast to leave a light level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a blackberry smell with some notes of a bready aroma mixed within. Along with these aromas are more subtle aromas of a more grassy and spiced aroma.
Taste – The taste begins big of a sweet blackberry taste that largely dominates the tastes of the brew. There is a bit of a bready flavor that is present upfront that over times loses its strength. As the flavor advances more toward the end, more blackberry sweetness comes to the tongue as well as a little bit of a sour flavor leaving a very sweet and smooth blackberry flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is on the medium side with a carbonation level that is on the average side as well. While a little more carbonation may have better suited the sweet and smooth flavors of the brew, it was overall a rather refreshing feel on the tongue.
Overall – Sweet and rather refreshing, although not tart like the name would imply (well maybe a very little bit at the end). The flavors are on the simpler side and would make for a nice drinker on a hot summer day, while outside chatting with friends.
