wetherel (1565), Encinitas, California, USA Jun 9, 2008 On tap at the Hopyard. Tried with AgentSteve. Cloudy yellow. White fine bubble head. Nice banana and clove aroma. Almost hefeweizenish. Easy to drink. Sweetish. carruthm (1112), Seattle, Washington, USA Jun 8, 2008 Exactly what you’d expect from a witbier made by an American macro company. Take a good witbier and add 20% more water. JustinFromAL (114), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Jun 8, 2008 Bottle. The best beer Coors makes IMO. citrus smell, citrus taste, unfiltered pour. thin off white head. You have to give blue moon props for being a good solid beer that’s distributed basically everywhere. PsionSaint (51), Colorado, USA Jun 8, 2008 A murky orange colored beer, served with an orange wedge. Probably the best beer from Coors if you’re more into craft. Decent flavor (obviously citrus/orange) even if it’s a little sweet for my taste. scrizzz (1252), kirkland, Washington, USA Jun 7, 2008 sweet oat and lemon/orange aroma, hazy yellow/gold, aggressively carbonated, respectable head. very simple, overly sweet. plenty of wheat character and the citrus tastes artificial, or concentrate at least. I really hate blue moon on principle, but this is the best i’ve had of their line so far. they do get some credit in the end for the unfiltered sediment and yeast on the bottom of the bottle. the line of what is and isn’t an artistic beer is becoming increasingly blurred, in part to the overconsumption of this beer. bah. i guess that means i’ll have to continue drinking the beers to know for sure. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 5, 2008 On tap at the Coney. Pours Hazy, murky orange with white head that retreats to rimming white. Nose is citrus and spice with wheat malt. Lots of wheat malt flavor with mild citrus and clove notes, some mild hop crispness at the end. Standard macro wit, but a great gateway beer into the craft world edmajorjoe (79), Vail, Arizona, USA Jun 5, 2008 Updated: Oct 3, 2008I really like Blue Moon. It has a hefe look and taste. It can be enjoyed in a bottle or on tap. Goes great with Guiness (Eclipse). AgentSteve (1334), SF Bay Area, California, USA Jun 5, 2008 Updated: Apr 15, 2009On tap @ The Hopyard, pours hazy golden with a decent white head that lingers. The nose is cloves and banana. The flavor is the same with a very smooth, drinkable, mellow flavor and finish. This would get more props if it wasn’t brewed by Coors.
