Draft. Poured clear orange copper with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate sweet allspice aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium smooth sweet spice flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

Pours a light amber/brown color. Aroma is pretty straight forward with apple and caramel malt taking the front seat and the spices are a sidenote. Flavor isn’t really so great. Kind of tastes like a poor effort at an amber with some apple and spice. Meh. This was sampled at Whole Foods Scottsdale as part of the Blue Moon sample where tasters get to vote on which beer will be in the sampler pack in the fall of 2012.

Bottle @ home picked up at RJ’s Fort Collins. Pours a clear, golden orange appearance with thin tan head. Spicy, apple fruity, pear, kind of bland aroma. Kind of bready, nutmeg/cinnamon, apple, tangy, fruity flavor. Not super hard to drink but really scroll past-able.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear red-amber color with a large foamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of mild spice, burnt caramel and a strong meaty/salty note. Weird. The taste is heavy spice, apple, caramel. Thin-watery, high carbonation. This is a train wreck.

Dogbrick (8141) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 3, 2012
Pours a hazy dark amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes quickly. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt and sweet spices. Light body with a flavor that is not particularly caramel nor apple. Some fruit and sweet spices flavors plus sweet malt. The finish is sweet with a nutmeg and cinnamon aftertaste. Average overall.

Tastes like a pumkin pie beer. The nutmeg overpowers everything. Hint of cinnamon. Shitty beer.

On tap at Milwaukee Brewfest. Poured clear copper with a creamy off-white head. The aroma was sweet and spicy with nutmeg and cinnamon over some apples. The flavor found nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves over bready malts and caramel-covered apples.. fairly empty when the spices fell off the quick finish. Light-medium bodied with an OK feel through the palate.. too much spicage for me.

Sampled on draft at Flipdaddy’s. Clear amber color. Good thicker off-white head, with good retention, leaves good lace. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Medium body. Good caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg aromas. Mild sweet taste, and spice, hint of baked apple. Better than expected

Bottle:   Amber with a bright copper hue, thin frothy white head, little lacing.   Has a soft cinnamon apple spice to the nose, but very soft... too soft.   Soft malty start, touch of cinnamon, apple spice (like a candle), and very pale breadiness.   This one is the softest out of all the winter Blue Moons.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Perhaps a touch of apple cider on the finish, with a touch of nutmeg or cinnamon in it.   Very soft example.   Wished it had more caramel sweetness and body to it.   Uneventful.
